ComboSoft Integrated Software
Q: My website is hosted with another company. Can I install Combosoft Modules on it?
A: No. Combosoft Modules is specifically tailored to take advantage of the advanced features and configuration of our servers. We could not guarantee they would function correctly on another server.

Q: I am a web designer. If I switch a client to Combo Marketing web hosting, will I be able to set up Combosoft Modules for them?
A: Absolutely. We have a resellers scheme for other designers with generous discounts.

Q: Can I install Combosoft Modules on my u$ave site?
A: u$ave accounts only have 1MB of storage space, limiting the benefits of a Combosoft Module powered website.

Web Hosting
Q: If I change my hosting to Combo Marketing, will my search engine placement or web directory listings be affected?
A: A change in hosting will have no effect whatsoever.

Q: I want to switch my hosting to Combo Marketing, but I do not have access to a copy of my site to send to you. Does this matter?
A: Not generally. Contact us with your website address and we will quickly let you know.

Q: Do you support ASP and Cold Fusion?
A: No. ASP requires a Windows server for optimal performance. Our servers are Linux based, an operating system that provides superior stability, reliability and security. Cold Fusion is needlessly costly. PHP provides equivalent and superior capabilties without the cost overheads and security issues of these other systems.

Q: Do you support Flash, Java and Javascript?
A: Yes. These technologies depend on the site visitor's browser, not the type of server.

Q: I am happy with my current designer but not the hosting charges. Can I switch to Combo Promotions for hosting only or do I have to get the site designed by you?
A: We can provide hosting accounts for anybody, not just those we do web design work for.

Q: What is a domain name?
A: A domain name is a unique address on the Internet. Just like your letterbox has a unique address identifying you to the post office. The actual addesses on the Internet are a set of four numbers called IP (Internet Protocal) addresses. To help people remember these numbers the domain name system was developed, therefore replacing the set of numbers with a simple word or expression. A domain name can be used for website and email adresses.

Q: Do I need a domain name?
A: A domain name can suit anyone, from individuals to businesses. A domain name gives you your own identity on the Internet. For businesses a domain name is becoming as common as telephone and fax numbers. A domain name is a valuable marketing tool to help increase branding and public awareness. Without a domain name you run the risk of losing customers who prefer to browse services and merchandise online.
